SweetThe Gardiners, with their two daughters, their daughters' friend, plus Jane and Elizabeth, travel to Derbyshire in December (yikes!) to spend the Christmas holiday with a friend of Mr Gardiner。 Elizabeth takes the three young girls on a hike , and they get trapped by a sudden snowstorm。 Fortunately, they come upon an abandoned cottage 。 Darcy, on horseback, also gets trapped by the storm, and shows up at the same place, and ends up assisting Elizabeth in making the little girls comfortable。 SweetThe Gardiners, with their two daughters, their daughters' friend, plus Jane and Elizabeth, travel to Derbyshire in December (yikes!) to spend the Christmas holiday with a friend of Mr Gardiner。 Elizabeth takes the three young girls on a hike , and they get trapped by a sudden snowstorm。 Fortunately, they come upon an abandoned cottage 。 Darcy, on horseback, also gets trapped by the storm, and shows up at the same place, and ends up assisting Elizabeth in making the little girls comfortable。 At this point in time, Elizabeth still dislikes Darcy, and Darcy has decided that Elizabeth isn't good enough for him to marry。 Their time together during the storm will go a long way to changing both of their attitudes。This is a short story, so everything needs to get wrapped up tidily in a hurry。 The cottage where they shelter is part of Pemberly, so as soon as it's possible, Darcy takes them all to his home。 The Gardiners and Jane join them, and then who should show up but Bingley! It's not long before Elizabeth learns the truth about Wickham, and gets close to Georgiana。 In no time at all, love conquers all。This is an enjoyable and sweet confection。 The storyline is very contrived, but I guess that's required to help things move along quickly。 Two of the little girls, Emily Gardiner and Katie Joy, are annoying characters, and disturbingly precocious for eight year old children, with their apparent obsession with lurid love stories and matchmaking。 It's kind of icky instead of cute。 At the risk of being entirely too nitpicky, I'll say that the story went off the rails for me at the end, when a surprise guest show up at Pemberly, at exactly the right time。 I won't say who it was, but it just made me roll my eyes and chuckle about how contrived and convenient it was。The book is well written and well edited。 I recommend it as a and light, heartwarming story。 。。。more
Fastidious Kingdoms,
FirefliesAnngela always writes stellar tales。 I don’t have much to say about the plot。 She captured whimsy and the magical like lightning bugs in a jar。 The three girls, while precocious to a fault, nonetheless ring true。

Debbie,
5+ starsDelightful Christmas tale wherein three distinctly different little girls, all seeking an adventure, get more than they bargained for and sweep Elizabeth and Mr。 Darcy into it with them。 Very creative。 Beautifully written。
